"Loeb is a bad image" : FIA

News channels getting just a little upset here. Sebastien has been receiving official complaints about his unkept appearance and 'not being a suitable image for international motorsport'.
Guess who's sending these emails and comments??
Pot, kettle etc
He looks just like 'le Youngsters' his sponsors want to buy the car that his rally missile bears a passing resemblance to. I'd have thought the only people that have a say (and it's a small say) are the PR people employed by his sponsors. Guess who's sending these emails and comments??

It's all crap, isn't it. You want a huge earning from motorsport, you've got to have sposorship. To please the sponsors, you've got to appeal to their target markets. Your life is no longer your own.
Whatever happened to just being bloody good at going bloody fast, eh?
Money has a lot to answer for.

james hunt wore a badge with "sex: breakfast of champions" on it
jacques villenueve had more facial hair than badly drawn boy and a race suit four sizes too big
jenson button looks like he is chewing a squirrel
at points fisichella has sported lamb chops which rivalled the great legend of the sideburn emmo fittipaldi
loeb is small time.

Can't say I had ever thought that Loeb was particularly scruffy or unkempt, and he seems to be a reasonably eloquent communicator when talking in English. If that is the largest problem the FIA think they have to consider regarding the image of motorsport they ought to try looking a little closer to their presidents office.
This level of hypocricy(sp) is laughable. How they can reprimand Loeb for his unkempt look (which I'd describe as fashionably scruffy). And yet consider letting the president of the FIA away with a Nazi oriented orgy is beyond me. I think we all know what is more damaging to the sport and its sponsors.
The FIA is a joke - its getting to the point where I dont want to watch motorsport because if I do I feel sick because of the way the FIA have screwed it (not just F1) up. If other motorsport fans start switching the TV off, how long do you think it'll be before the sponsors all f
k off to Premier league football or some other high profile sport where they are not seen to endorse sexual perversions.

Actually, his race suit is the perfect size... if you don't want to get burnt that it. Air, as they say, is the best insulator; these drivers who have spray on race suits - Mark Webber, I'm looking at you - would come off very badly in a firey accident, NOMEX is not very heat resistant. Some quotes from the FIA's 'EveryRace' campaign:

As said above, you really couldn't make this stuff up...chris_w said:

I think your quote would fit in quite handsomely hereBernie Ecclestone said:

Presumably the MSA will have to hide me and everyone else away from the world who partake in motorsport just in case we give out a bad image.
I presume being old , overweight and overindulged like the World Motorsport council is the way to go.. as it happems Bernie Ecclestone gives me the creeps , but having said that he has surprised me by making waves against Max so he has earned some Kudos there even if it was only to shoe in Todt and keep the political landscape the same as it is now.
