Whoops, I went to start this yesterday then forgot about it redface

The Aussie V8 Supercars are at Wanneroo (Barbagallo Raceway) in WA this weekend. We currently have 3 National Champs from WA, Garth Tander in the V8s, Grant Johnson in the V8 utes, and Tony Ricciardello in Sports Sedans. Garth and Grant are both racing this weekend so I'll be cheering them on.

VESA keep threatening to take the WA round away, they want it to go to a street circuit rolleyes which would probably be the end for the only proper racetrack for thousands of Km... maybe they want to stop WA drivers from taking all the titles?

Any idea what year that was? I only ran in the ATCC in 86, the Volvos were running, can't remember which Nissan, DJ was driving the Mustang. If I wasn't in the ATCC race in that pic I certainly would have been in the support races.

eta "rightclick/properties" suggests it was 86, in which case, are you actually in this photo? This is me getting out of the way for RF & DJ. The RX7 was hopeless under GpA regs, and this particular car was little better than a road car on slicks. It was 2-3 seconds a lap slower than my RX3 which was racing on road tyres in the Street Car class.

Yeah I took my pic to be an '86 shot too. I reckon you must have been in it that one.

I was definitely at that race, not in the shot but very likely camped around where that shot was taken from. Normally between the left hander after turn 1 and the rigth hand crest before the left up the hill. If that makes sense. Rigth near the Marshalls tower there.

Great shot thumbup

BTW, I was 8!

ETA - for my pic, I thought '86 would mean Brocky runnning a VL? The car in the shot is the back of a VK I reckon. What say you?

ETA II: looked again and now think it might be a VL afterall ie. the bootspoiler
