I did the Castle Combe saloons for 4 years in my 3 litre M3, and I can tell you the racing was very close and a lot of dicing going on. OK, the Keith's Audi was in its own class, but in the lower performance cars, the racing was great. Lots of doorhandling!
Great friendly paddock with very little bad feeling.
I now do the LMA eurosaloons after Combe decided to reverse their decision to let 3.5 litre n.a. cars compete in class B, and returned to a 3 litre limit after Nosher Norris did his triple Salko at Camp... This, after I had built my car as a 3.2 after my little 3 litre donkey was revved to infinity and shat its valves everywhere (not by me, I add).
The LMA is also a friendly paddock, but the biggest crowd we'll see this year was at Combe

... and you had the nicest looking car on the grid, if yours was the M3 with the 18" schnitzer rims. Whilst I was supporting our "home" cars, I did get moist when the M power 6 pots came past the pit wall. I drove an E36 M3 at the time 2 years ago, and miss it dearly. k at number 10 made it too costly to run to work 40 miles away, and now I'm reduced to driving "traffic"

The engine did sound good when a 3 litre. Screamed its heart out!

ACS wheels a bit crap, actually. One completely split two round the rim after riding the exit kerbs at tower...

Looks better now it has slicks on black dynamics 17". Suits e36 better than 18", I think

Does look good, and goes well to be able to mix with Williamsons Escort, and Harrisons Evo.

Been scouting the classifieds for a 3.0 M3 too, to use for track days mainly. Great cars, and people who ignore the E36 have never driven one properly

To be fair to Nick, he car was off colour in that photo!
E36 M3s are unfairly unloved, but provide a great value as a trackcar.
Not another misfire again! When that Escossie goes, it flys, when it's spluttery, it barks! woof! Put a chevy in it!E36 M3s are unfairly unloved, but provide a great value as a trackcar.
E36 M3 - agree there. Quite popular in Britcar (PS1). Ideal for VLN too.
Much better without 59 on them though. It's mine I tell you! Mine!

The escort had suffered problems from what i heard from a collegue of williamson, and sounded rough as feck too.
