My apologies if this has been mentioned before, but how come Bernie has it in for Moseley for hiring 5 birds for an afternoon orgy... when he clearly hires at least 20 scantily clad chicks to remind the drivers where to park their cars at every race....!!
Not quite the same I know, but a similar message being sent out about the role of women in motor sport.

I'd better get a drink......!

What's the differnece between Max Mosely paying for sex with those girls in "the video" and Bernie paying for sex with the model that has agreed to be his wife?

Lets face it, would Bernie's wife look twice at him if he wasn't a billionair? When you cut away all the ste, both of them are paying for sex, At least Max isn't pretending the women are with him for anythign else but his money, unlike Bernie with his wife

Er, I think it's more the Nazi thing than the paying for sex that's of most concern.

Only watched it briefly.... wasn't too convinced of the Nazi overtones, but point taken.

I think the Nazi thing is not that important in the big scheme of things, people are using it as a tool to get at him with though

Bernie is private businessman. He has few obligations to other people.
Mosley is a politician whose job is to represent millions of FIA members. He is meant to serve at their pleasure.

Both are paying for sex with women that wouldn't be with them if it wasn't for their money

But seeing as people have an agenda against max, they are jumping on any wagon that will alow them to call for his resignation.... they dressed up for sex games, so what?

It's the type of dressing that is the problem.

Bernie doesn't need me to defend him, but he and his wife have been married for more than twenty years, and have two children.
To try to contrive a similarity between his stable marriage and Max Mosley's hiring five tarts to dress up in S&M gear, treat him like a concentration camp inmate, and bark orders at him in German is a waste of time.

Couldn't agree more although isn't Bernie more of a small business man?

A small man with a big business?

So, his wife has been with him for his money for 20 years

Do you really think an ugly little man like him, one who's in his 70's, would be with a stunner like her if it wasn't for his money?

I think that people are attracted to each other for all sorts of reasons.
In the case of the Ecclestones, some years ago Bernie created a trust of which his wife and daughters were the beneficiaries. Indeed, the trust (SLEC) is named after his wife. The main assets of FOM were put into SLEC, prior to its being sold to third parties. SLEC would have ended up with the proceeds - a ten figure sum.
If you believe that the only reason that Slavica married "an ugly little man...in his '70s" was for the money, why do you suppose she has stayed married to him after she got the money?

I also think that we now have an insight into what you value in a life partner. That is up to you, but why would you presume that everyone else shares your values?

Yes, you find ordinary men (dustbin men perhaps) all around the world end up with stunning women all the time, not once has a stunner gone after a man for his money

powerful men like bernie also get the stunners because their power is an aphrodisiac to some women, they like being fawned all over by the people her husband deals with, they like the powerful, rich circles their husband moves in... it's not just about the money, it's about the quality of life their rich man can provide, they'll pay for this continually by opening their legs to their odious husband when ever he requires it. It's a reciprical arrangement, he gets to bang a stunner and gets a trophy wife, she gets the money and lifestyle, nothing wrong with that as long as both parties aren't kidding themselves it's any other thing.

If Bernie retired from being head honcho of F1, if he became a nobody, never went to places that had people fawning all over him and his wife, if he gave all his money (ever last penny of it) to charity, how long do you think she'd put up with being with a nobody for?

A few minutes later you're saying this:

...it's not just about the money...
The essence of the point that you are attempting to make appears to be that a woman is attracted to a man because there are attractive things about the man. This is not a revelation. In fact, I believe that it is a basic principle of biology.

It would not be okay for her to be attracted to him because he had made himself into a successful and powerful man, but it would be okay for him to be attracted to her because, thanks to a random act of nature, she was beautiful? Or would it not be okay for him to be attracted to her because she was beautiful?
Do you have a set of rules for the things that are acceptable to attract one person to another? Or is it not allowed to be attracted to another person at all?
Perhaps you're into arranged marriages? No, wait, in arranged marriages, it's the parents who are attracted by certain factors in their child's would-be partners. They're not allowed to be attracted to those things either, I suppose.

In 846732-world, what is allowed?

If his wife was just in it for the money she could have walked away with 50% years ago but she hasn't has she. It has been said that you are actually paying a prostitute to go away after the sex act.

But he wouldn't, and that might be the point. He's never going to be a nobody until such times as he has no body. When he was an east-ender he was a mover and shaker. When he ran Brabham he was a . . . but perhaps you've got the point I'm trying to make.

Eccs will always force his way to the front and that does make him attractive to some women. Is that any more 'worthy' than going for looks? A cracking figure? Blonde hair? And no conversation?

My missus didn't go for looks and for that I'm grateful.
