Thee BBC are reporting that two of Motorsport's greatest names will be honoured this year

John Surtees, only man to win World Championships on 2 and 4 wheels, will be awarded an OBE

And Andy Priaulx, 4 time Touring Car World Champion, is to be an MBE. This is for his services to sport and community in Guernsey

Andy Priaulx said:

"It is quite a surprise to receive an envelope with the royal logo on," said Priaulx.

"I was really taken aback and very honoured to read they wanted to bestow the MBE on me.

Priaulx has had stamps made in his honour in Guernsey

"I love my racing and am proud to carry the flags of both Guernsey and the UK on my car and overalls, so recognition of this sort is something really special."

I suppose it's better than being ignored for 50 years.

A Knighthood would have been more appopriate. He was the equivalent of Fangio or Schumacher on bikes.
