It doesnt take long when only half the grid are there :-(

I suppose thats what happens when they schedule the only single header mtg at a track your going to visit again during the season for a double header banghead

Still I cant talk, spent the day watching Le Mans On eurosport hehe

Your right though TSL are really onthe ball these days. qually was onthe web just after lunch and the full results not long after racing finished !!!

if it really does hurt please go see the doctor, you spun round quite quick from what i saw and two impacts into the tyres so don't take chances if you think there might be a problem. We want you back racing! smile

Oh dear, that doesnt sound too good.

Owen hows the neck? do you wear a neck brace ? As Joolz says best you get down the doctors and get it checked out.. When I bounced off the barriers at Mallory in the taz many moons ago I damaged my neck muscles ( no neck brace !!) and that used to give me head aches, cost me a few quid in physio!! if you pop down the doctors quickly they can probably sort it before it becomes a problem

Cheers

Dr Hockin is due to give me a call soon.... I have to say he was remarkably calm, especially as Marc also brought his back in sections......

Hopefully be sorted soon.

also, booked an appt with the chiro for tomorrow am, just to be on the safe side...have an ankle that needs checking anyway, so 2 birds with one stone and all that.

Really glad to hear you're OK Owen.

I had a very similar accident in the turbo taz in 06 trying to extract a quick lap in qually. It's probably no consolation at all but I have the whole thing captured on my on-board video if you ever want to compare scars or can't remember what happened!!!!!!!

So lets have a summary of the race/s.

Why so few racers (Brands is a mega track) - where are most ofthe racers based?

I think it was more to do with the fact that it was only one race whereas most are DH and also we are going back there again later this season. ( OH - and Le Mans)

Combination of many things.

1) only single header round
2) we're going back to Brands again later for a d/h round
3) long haul for most of the racers.
4) couple of blowups at the last mtg
5) Le Mans weekend

Brands (INDY) is a nice track, especially Paddock Hill but its not a circuit I'd bust a gut to get to certainly not twice in one season.. I'd rather do Oulton/Cadwell/Donny

Castle Coombe is a circuit that confuses me, Lots of people rate it, and its certainly the most hospitable circuit with a good cafe and bar !!! but the circuits not that great, very bumpy, poor pit lane access and very dangerous. A lot of the tuscan Guys really rate it, but yet wont go to cadwell as they say its more dangerous.. I've seen a lot more big accidents at coombe, and there is a lot less run off at coombe to.. I think the open center gives the illusion of lots of space..

maybe its because Ive only raced at coombe once that I dont get it?

each to his own I suppose.

And Anglesey isn't?

There seems to be few omissions this year, Donington is one, plus Coombe and what about Croft and Knockhill. Is that because the BRSCC are administering the championship?

Personally, I don't get that it's too far for a single-header. When I was racing (many many years ago, and I know it's a bit sad to say "in my day") we didn't have single headers or twenty minute races. We'd trawl the length of the country for a ten minute practise and ten lap race and no-one gave a damn because they wanted to race (but we didn't have run-offs and gravel traps either). All credit to those that did make the trek.

From a spectator's point of view, 12 cars at Brands for a series that is supposed to be building was a bit of a poor show. And from a spectator's point of view they don't come much better than Brands.
