Will that be the Windmill Farm fields ?
Thats where I'm heading for.
If it is, then take plenty of bog roll and water 'cos there ain't a lot there !!
But that said, it is as close to the pit straight as you can get for camping.
Don't forget the beer too drink and maybe some earplugs aswell !! (not for the race but used for trying to get some sleep biggrin
You'll meet some nutty people there but I guarantee you'll enjoy every minute !!!
DON'T FORGET YOUR CAMERA !

You mean you're not sleeping on the floor !!
'Tis as experience to behold biggrin
It can give you a bad back though (thats what the beers for)
Take plenty of money / cards 'cos your 14yo WILL want to buy lots of t-shirts etc from the merchandising village behind the pit straight (not extortionate prices too which makes a change)

Take a radio with you.

If you have a bit to spare try to get a Kangaroo TV hire for the w/e (and get a headphone 1 into 2 splitter so you can both listen and watch at the same time). You don't need one but it is a great tool.

Don't kill yourself on time for getting out on Sunday either. Chill out after the race, go to the concert, but just don't join the lemmings making a dash for it at flag fall. I've attened 100's of major race meetings over the years and would rather spend 3 hours looking around all the places you couldn't blag your way into a few hours ago/reading a book in the car/etc than sat in a jam doing nothing better than exercising your clutch foot.

One of the reasons I chose Abbey is that it has a TV screen (and all the covered stands had gone by March!!) eek

That's good advice -we don't intend to rush, but he does have a plane to catch to Rome for a school trip at 3a.m. Monday morningwink -whatalife!! smile
