Even if "most of the content" (a very dubious statement) is just upscaled from an SD source, it still looks far better than any consumer upscaled SD I've ever seen. Actually my TV upscales SD better than most amps anyway.
£10 - big deal!
I used to pay £10 for Sky+ but then the service became free - due in part I guess to critical mass. The same will be with Sky HD. The Sky HD box comes with Sky+ as stadard so you get all the gadgets in one box for only £10 a month.
I wouldn't be without one now, and I'm sure in time my £10 will be dropped on HD like it is on Sky+
£10 a month...
Show me anything else that gives you that amount of enjoyment for only £10 a month.

Oh and the BBC are to show F1 on HD, plus full use of the red button - roll on 2009

Exactly right. It's just a question of how stubborn some people are in waiting for the £10 HD fee to be dropped. They seem to think they have a God given right to get it for free. I think it's worth the tenner now there's plenty of decent HD content. Why pay for an expensive HD TV and watch SD channels most of the time? Petrol in Bahrain is about 10p a litre too. Cars are cheaper (allegedly) in Europe. But as I choose to live in the UK, it's not very relevant.

The feeds are all there though - Kangaroo TV uses them for it's handheld TV coverage. A lot of people here seem to be confusing the change from ITV to BBC with completely independent changes in the way F1 is broadcast from each host country.
The only potential difference the BBC can make to the camera angles, interactive features, direction and whether we get HD externally and onboard is with the British GP.
We'll only get HD onboard if someone is willing to pay for the onboard guys to upgrade it. We'll only get interactive features if Bernie is willing to let the host broadcaster have access to all the feeds.
Having said that, it's quite possible we will get all of that, but it has very little to do with the BBC winning the contract to cover F1 in the UK.
Bernie did have all the technology to do everything we want and it still sits in a hanger at Biggen Hill. He pulled the plug because it didn't earn him enough money.
