What colour was it originally?

If it was always yellow I know a bit about it and it's provenence. (I think you'll find it's Porsche Speed Yellow if I'm correct)

I think I'm right is saying that this car was raced for years by Nigel Tustain who came from Stratford on Avon and was a friend of Clive Greenhalgh who owned Team Central at the time. Whilst Clive ran Ian Flux and Bobby Verdon-Roe to consecutive championships, Nigel Tustain wasn't quite as quick - in fact he was usually in the last five in most races. I can't recall the car ever having been crashed- but don't hold me to that.

I think Nigel was still racing when the cars started to use AJP engines - they had rectangular slots cut in the bonnet tops for the air intakes. However all the engines were leased from the factory so they all went back and your car was probably returned to Rover engine spec around then

If you want to know any more - Clive Greenhalgh now owns Guadix Circuit in Spain and may be able to give you some more details - contact him via the Guadix website

Nigel was still racing in the AJP era - towards the end of the series the factory ran him in a purple car ('Tustain Purple'). That car was bought by Steve Glynne at the end of 2004/early 2005. Nigel may well have had different cars, but the yellow car is not Nigel's most recent.

The person most likely to know the yellow car's history is John Read
