GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEED

Anyone off to goodwood this weekend ?Anybody go last year?
was thinking about going but seeing as i spent a fortune at silverstone last weekend am a bit broke going to be good weather tomorrow too.
is it worth the £48 admission fee?what other stuff goes on besides hillclimb? might go next year.

To the OP - I hope you went! Best event of the year by a country mile IMO and never fails to deliver. I was there yesterday and it was fantastic. To be able to stand right next to these priceless cars in the paddock when they're warming their engines is a total delight and something that just does not exist anywhere else. Can't wait for next year!

Did'nt go this year was thinking about it though maybe next year spent all my money last weekend at silverstone
also it's a long drive from east yorks plan would be to drive there and back in 1 day.

I did Goodwood FOS a few years ago and had a ball - 1 day isn't enough though, you need at least 2.

I'm off to the revival this year, not been before but I have been told it's better than the FOS. Got my costume ready too - WW2 nurse!!

I have been to both several times and like the revival more, but it really depends what kind of cars you're into.

The revival is the best racing "event" in the world IMHO, it's far more than the racing, cars and drivers, it's a whole experience that is unique.

I went yesterday, and can't believe that I have never been before. Always been one of those things that I've seen on TV and said "must go there". Went with my dad for his birthday and both had a great time. Think his legs are feeling it today though.

Loved the rally stage. Highlights for me would have to be Troy Corser, the Celica Pikes Peak car, The Auto Union and mostly Miko Hirvonnen being a rally king on the hill climb .... The McRae collection brought a tear to the eye.

I'm several grand worse off now though, as a free couple of laps in the Bowler Wildcat (cheers guys )has pushed that to the top of my lottery list, and I'm now 99.9% set that only an Alfa 159 will do for my next commuter car.
