2009 F1 Designs

Has anyone seen any concept pictures of what next years F1 cars are possibly going to look like?

Not as such but Schumacher has been testing a car in 2009 configuration, without bargeboards, wheel covers and not silly additional fins and flick ups that they could remove from the current car.

That's disappointing, I was hoping for something more akin to the FW14, MP4/6 and MP4/8's etc of the early 90's

That looks really quite strange without the bargeboards.

Also - 2009 regulations - 3.18 - Driver Adjustable Bodywork that specifies parts of the bodywork that can be adjusted while the car is in motion within the maximum range of 6 degrees and maximum 2 times a lap.

Thing is though, if the technical regulations remain tight no matter what they are the cars will all still look the same and no one will be able to bring that spark of genius to F1 design.

It's deffinately an improvement. Though the height of where the nose protudes out of the rest of the car looks very strange, would there normally have been some sort of aerodynamic aid there?

Comparing them like that is a bit dissapointing, they've still retained those bloody awfull looking fins that stick out behind the driver, and without the aerodynamic aid just behind the front wheels it looks a bit odd

Is that not just a 2008 car with the various soon to be illegal bits removed, rather than a new 2009 car? I can't imagine they would be showing the 09 car off in public just yet.

I would say so.... far to early to be showing their 'cards' just yet, that will be a 'development mule' IMO.

They have only removed the aero devices on the test that could be removed, those that were integral to the bodywork weren't removed.
