Brazilian GP - Accomodation Help

Anyone here been to Interlagos and have any tips on where to stay.

Have been using the Expedia driven booking system on Formula1.com, but it's not very helpful in terms of suggesting where to stay.

Any other tips on a weekend at the GP in Sao Paulo would be gratefully received!

How much do you want to spend a night?

Have done Rio a few times, so don't £150 a night is unreasonable. Thinking more about which part of the city to stay in rather than specific hotels.

Hi Balham,
went last year and stayed in a hotel in the Jardins district, would definitely recommend the area (can't remember hotel name at the moment but let me know if you're interested, it was three star-ish chain and perfect for what we wanted).

The Garden district is where all the smart shops and restaurants are, very nice to walk around (especially if you're with your other half) and feels safe. To be honest, we didn't really come out of the area in the three days we were there as there were loads of restaurants (would definitely recommend the Fig Tree, amazing steaks: http://www.dvorak.org/blog/?page_id=5267) and bars and nothing that we saw on the coach to and from the circuit tempted us to go exploring in the limited time we had.

Give me a shout if you have any specific questions, you should have a great time, just hope you have as exciting a race as we did last year (but with a better result!).

PS - would also recommend a Kangaroo TV for following the race and take cash for buying drinks in the circuit, they don't let you take water inside but you'll needs LOTS.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. How long did the coach take to get to the circuit? We're not on a tour, so will probably have to rely on taxis.

Good shout on the Kangaroo's. Have used them before and I wouldn't be without one.

Transfer to the circuit took anything from 40 minutes on the Friday afternoon to two and a half hours on the Saturday evening, all dependent on traffic which is as epic as people say! Easy to get taxis at the hotel, and you could arrange to get them to come back and pick you up later too.
