"Eco-towns give us a unique opportunity to tackle two of the greatest challenges facing the country in tandem – the pressing need to confront climate change and deliver more affordable housing.
These locations have the potential to deliver vital affordable housing for tens of thousands of young people and families.
"We want up to 10 eco-towns – delivering up to 100,000 new homes – that could mean at least 30,000 extra affordable homes.
On the 7th July 2008 the Curborough Consortium announced that they are withdrawing from the Eco-town process.
The Curborough Consortium have, however, submitted a planning application for a new settlement at Curborough outside of the eco-towns planning process."
No closure from Eco Towns, but do the new planning applications still affect the track?
