help with msa rules re: prop,oil tank,rain light

After spending another weekend on the old tuscan race car i wonder ,upon reading my blue book if any of you clever people can help with the following

1/ it appears that all front engined cars now need either heavy shieding or a restraint system on propshafts ????

2/does a dry sump tank mounted at the rear of the boot mean i have to shield it by a crushable structureof 10mm min thickness...the book seems to infer that this is a requirement if mounted outside the main chassis structure????

3/does the warning rain light have to be within 10cm of the centre line on tuscans too ? mine appears to use the right hand (fog light) switch says rainlight but i suspect it may no longer be legal)??

i thought i was racing on the 9th sept..... any advice welcome guys thanks parxy

The restraint system is your chassis rails.

If it is within your boot then it is firewalled from the passenger compartment. Chances are your rear bodywork will be 10mm thick by now.

The MSA has delayed a ruling for rear vis lights until next year but I know a lot of guys have fitted a rear centre mounted one. Other method is to use 2 within your existing lights.

There is a bit of hassle at the moment with the rear harness top pick ups where scrutes at Silverstone required 2 seperate mounting points.

any worries give John Read a call and he will talk you through any issues.

neil i guess you mean the ones either side on the cage? i thought it was legal to have both in one eye fitting anyway....prob. not.....my hair was black before tvr
