I find that quite interesting...

sort of brings the Silverstone issue into perspective...

I guess all this new money is all well and good (especially to Bernie), but the value of the investment by these new circuits is devalued every time one of the historic circuits drops off the bottom of the calender.

as i said on another thread, if monaco was free and the silverstone deal was $11m as quoted in MotorSport, someone (or two) is paying through the nose to host a gp and in my humble opinion, its the countries where the ruling party or dictator is only to happy to have the ultimate party in his back yard and where the source of the cash need not be an issue for the public agenda. i am not sure the new countries care about the loss of historically significant circuits, they are new to the F1 circus and probably see places like Monza or Spa as relics of a bygone era.
