What McLaren should do next !

As there is going to be an appeal regarding the Spa results, I was wondering what McLaren could do in the meantime.
It occured to me that a good, witty and amusing thing to do would be to run the McLarens in the next race painted RED.
Seriously. Both Vodafone and Banca Santander ( their main sponsors ) use red as the dominant colour in their marketing, so it would be easy to justify.
Turning up in red with a knowing wink, would be a great move and send a message to all F1 fans.
Anyone here good with photoshop to show what a good colour scheme could be?

Announce the start of a feasibility study for the establishment of a new motorsport authority with the intention of running an open wheel, single seat race series.
Get the names of some rich Arabs and start rumours about major advertisers and TV companies (ITV?

That was Mercedes not McLaren and they had done lots of testing before they took it to Le Mans, it was the violence of the Toyota drivers during the race that made Peter flip, I saw them come round after every lap watching the front winglets being slowly but surely destroyed. It was going to happen again sooner or later!
Absolute cobblers. Nothing to do with the dive planes or Toyotas at all. I won't dive into the technicalities of the flips here, but you're way off the mark there.Edited by Ahonen on Sunday 7th September 19:24

It flipped due to an enforced change in the aerodynamic regulations. The car wasnt tested enough with the new aero package that had been forced upon it and this was the result, the air flow got underneath it on the mulsanne bumps and up it went. The Toyota drivers had sod all to do with it as mark webber flipped his in the warm up and practice too. 3 flips in all.

Mercedes should never be held up as the example, it happened to Audi and Porsche at less public events! I almost lost a good friend in the race accident!
Mclaren will not do anything - they have stated intent to appeal but there is a chance the penalty will be increased, so in all likelihood the appeal will be dropped.....
What should they do? I would like to see them pull out or pull Lewis out of the rest of the season as a protest after todays fiasco - it certainly looks like the FIA will not allow Mclaren to win this year (perhaps this is an additional punishment on top of the £100Mil they were fined last year)...
I doubt they can really do a lot - they still have duty to their sponsors to race so life will go on as usual - Mclaren will take it on the chin and Ferrari can add another trophy for the cabinet to go alongside their other greatest victory - Indianapolis 2005...
