Just back from Spa Gp.....

Spa GP was stunning!!!
we stayed in silver 2 stadium and watched the practice sessions and Quali from the end of the main straight.
what a stunning circit, the level changes are amazing.

Then the GP!
what a stunning race, the tension, the errors Lewis and Kimi giving 110% and even Massa giving a stunning performance.
However, after the GP, after the 4 days, after over £2k (for 4 of us) i am now utterly sick to my stocmach.
to some F1 is a boring precession of loud cars, to others including me its something that ever 2 weeks or so makes my life alittle more interesting.
I scrimped and saved every pound after buying a house to visit Spa (the best circit in the calender IMHO) and even managed to view Ou rouge.
So when the race went to the wire, Every person screaming, every hair on end and for our chap to win i was on cloud 9.
Did you know the FIA didn't let its 200k+ fans that lewis was given a penatly?
i had to find out on the way home!
glad to see Max cares for his fans then!!!

to say im fking fuming is putting it mildly, and i'm very close to giving up the sport i've followed since i was 6.

You Max, the FIA and Bernie are walking a very tight line, and it *will* bite you on the ass one day!

I feel for you totally. I was there and couldnt have put it better myself.

Drove back through the night, got back in at 05.30 in the morning. Up for work at 07.30 to find out the result has changed on ceefax. After all the emotion and excitment of the race im still in shock.

Like you said they didnt mention anything to the fans there. Im sure not 1 person that saw the action live with their own eyes would ever imagine there was anything remotely wrong with the pass and the result might change.

Im praying the appeal sorts it out.

If you're going to correct people's spelling, make sure you get it right. And I wasn't aware that ability to spell French was a pre-requisite to being a F1 fan.

the ironic bit here is the one of the stewards is the promotor of SPA, as in the person that most needs people like you to spend money going to the race......

Like you I drove back - sat in the traffic for 2 hours getting out of SPA
then I wondered what these blokes were doing waving Ferrari flags on the E40 above the bridges

As a fan of F1 since about 6 or 7 years old(I am now 55),I have to ask myself why bother to watch a race if after the podium the stewards can then change the result to suit them!

To be fair Steve, race positions have been changed after races before. I'm sure you remember thje shenannigans of the 1976 season.
I don't think that is the issue. It's more the interpretation of a rather vague "rule" that seems to be the issue in this case.
