Those photos don't do the banking justice ! They are *really* steep !!
Went there earlier this year and after clambering through some bushes and up a steep slope we came to the banking at the end near the Parabolica. My 8 year old daughter took a couple of run-ups at it but she struggled to get more than 2/3 of the way up !!
I have to say, I have enormous admiration for the drivers who used to race on there !!
I had to show my daughter the clip from Grand Prix to show her what it was like to see cars racing round there - her reaction was "Wowww !!!"

It's not - at least not from the last report I read on it. Unlike Brooklands it's built on a frame which is not apparently in a very good state of repair.Thanks Flasher, greatly appreciated.

Got the opportunity to drive along that at the TVR 50th in my little Grif. It's so steep, at low speed, the back of the car drops away, leaving you on a lock going straight.I also dropped my camera down it that day from top to bottom (ex camera as you can guess).
ETA: Monza banking. Are we talking about the stewards banking their bribes from one team or another (deliberately not mentioning any team in particular notice, remaining not a "fanboy" in any way).

Just looked on google earth, Some fabulous pics of monza.
Question.
in the film Grand Prix cars were going over and under the banking. i can see from google earth that the banking was part of an oval circuit but can't work out how you would get from the banking to the underpaths going under the banking (if this makes sense).
am i missing something or did the old banked circuit link to part of the newer circuit??

The banking from one end lined up with the main straight (current GP start finish straight) the cars went down the left hand side of the straight onto Curve Grande and the current GP circuit then exiting the Parabolica corner they went down the right hand side of the start finish straight onto the banking at the other end.

It all happened straight after WWII, Britain was short of money after the war and no one had any to spare to pay for saving things like Brooklands and the attitude was one of building new not saving old.
