Where will Vettel end up?

I know he's off to Red Bull next year (meant to be a step up, but doesn't look that way on recent performances!)....but will he be a Ferrari or McLaren driver when he wins his first title?

I would put money on him ending up in a BMW before long...

He's put himself on the map now, but thats all he's done. He needs to back that up with strong performances in the remaining races this year and he'll then be firmly in the minds of the top teams. I'd imagine a move to BMW and a partnership with Kubica would be on the cards in the future though, and they'll probably have a breakthrough in the next couple of years too, to become a top flight team.

I hope it works out for him, he comes across as a very likeable chap who's modest demeanure belies an incredible talent.

Interesting. It sould be another interesting battle between McLaren and Ferrari.

Ferrari will see him as a possible Schumi 2; and McLaren know a top young driver when they see one.

Both McLaren and Ferrari have drivers in their current line-up who are sub-optimal.

I disagree...

I think the problem with LH is that he has had a front running car for every race... he's never had to toil at the back or middle of the grid, fighting desperatley for a single point...

That sort of experience is going to make Vettel a very good championship potential, and a fantastic racer..

A certain W Weber has hinted he wants to manage Vettel, who's self-managed at the moment. If he gets his gloves on Vettel (does anyone else think he looks like a gangland figure?), then he'll probably be at Ferrari. If not, then I think a certain M Thiessen will be on the phone with a shiny BMW waiting in the garage; or a N Haug with a sparkling Mercedes.

I suggested after last year's Japanese GP, that wet one, that he should be snapped up by Ferrari or BMW. Anything else will be treading water, no disrespect to the Milton Keynes crew. Well maybe not; they may well have the right facilities to make it!
In years gone by, I always thought 'old' race cars were better than new in the rain (where a degree of flexibility would allow the car's grip better purchase, a 'softer' car allowing the driver a longer window of grip). But that couldn't apply to the TR car at Monza could it?

my comment about LH was more based on attitude... I think Vettel will end up more Hill than Schumacher..

I would love to see Hamilton and Vettel in the same car, then we can see how good they both actually are (Alonso, Hamilton and Vettel being the three best drivers imho and we all know how LH and FA compare).

Kimi's contract is on for the next two seasons. If he shapes up and wins another WDC (quite possible), then Ferrari won't want to lose him. At the end of 2010, you might be eating your words and find Massa gets dropped instead.
