Good to see the FIA is taking the Green issue seriously by making the cars marginally more efficient, whilst still sticking to a Worldwide race calendar with all the International air travel that entails.
I predict the 2012 F1 season to be based around 2 litre Turbo Diesels, with bonus points for car sharing and congestion penalty points if you end up in a queue of traffic.

That will come in automatically if there are more than two cars at one time in the pit lane.It's only a matter of time before the green lobby turns their attention to motor sport. It's good to see the FIA being pro-active and this obvious and effective energy and CO2 saving measure ought to stave it off for at least a day.
While on Green issues
Can anyone explain why F1 don't do testing the day after a race like they do in Moto GP.
The costs in sending an entire test team to Spain when their cars and crew are at another venue must be astronomical.
The savings would be massive if they stay on for a day after each race for a days testing. All the kits already in place, the tracks set up and you might get some overspill of spectators who couldn't make/afford the previous day.
Is this not really obvious or has this been done to death before.
PS yes I am aware that some/most teams have separate test teams.

I believe that after Singapore Ferrari stayed on for another 3 days to practise pressing a button to turn a light from orange to green.Bridgestone promoting green issues?

Besides, I'm still a firm believer that most of this enviro talk is all just political spin to allow world governments to keep increasing taxes, which they'll have to do for many years now to pay for the hand-outs we've given to that other group of people who have such high morals - bankers!!!

It's pretty obvious how this saves the planet. You paint tyres flourescent green, then you run the cars at night, using up gigawatts of electricity to make the stripes really stand out, no, hold on, they've already tried that.
Maybe you could use a green twig for birching..no, they tried that as well..
