Senna to Honda?

Just read on Skysports.com that Bruno thinks that he has options at either Torro Rosso or Honda as a Driver next season.

Couldnt see anything on this already so I thought I would post it up to see what people think.

I'm a bit of a Honda fan and with the new reg's next season, would love to see them do well. I think there is no chance of Alonso going there - too big of a risk for him. But Jenson and Senna would be a great pairing.

Honda for Senna makes sense to me.......button as the wise old head.......Senna as the young hot-shot, I think Rubens has had his day and dosent offer any long term gain, Button can do that bit.

ironically - when i was a kid - i was always against Senna (as he wasn't British)

it wasn't until i was older that i understood his genius.

barichello has told him not to go for honda. either he wants to keep his drive or he knows they are going to continue to be sheet and it may ruin bruno's F1 career. str is a better bet i reckon. honda i think is probably the least desirable F1 car at the moment - at least no-one expects much of force india given it's tiny budget. but honda are just an embarassment.

I'd say Toyota are the embarrassment. They have never been anywhere near the top despite the largest budget for years.
At least Honda have finished in the top 2 constructors in the recent past.
Honda will rise again.

anyone could have forgiven honda for the 1 year slump they had - but to have never recovered or shown any signs of becoming competitive is pretty poor i reckon. i hear what you're saying tho, i strongly dislike toyota too, mostly for their lack of results given their astronomical budget (amongst other things), tho they are at least contenders for 4th place in the championship this year...

Well I have to admit to bias....I am a Honda 'fan', so had to deflect your criticism of them, despite the grains of truth therein.

I just pray Ross Brawn is the genius that his time at Ferrari suggested.......but I suspect someone called Rory Byrne (sp?) had more of an influence.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if he had even 10% of his uncles flair behind the wheel, might shake things up a bit. With Ross Brawn, and Bruno Senna (if he's good), Button and if Honda can build a decent car that could be one hell of a team.

i'll admit to not knowing much of his history but i don't know how strong brawn is technically. i think in terms of building a strong team, leadership and organisation he's probably pretty good but i'm not sure how much freedom the honda structure or way of working will give him to do what he needs to do.

it must be quite difficult being a honda supporter, especially with the dumbo wings, crap earth dreams stuff, and green trousers, so i won't give you any more abuse. at least no-one can accuse you of being a glory hunter

I think thats a good line-up for next year if it happens. Although everyone will compare him with his uncle (but then, everyone probably does now). Senna's link with Honda were very well known, so hopefully Honda are looking for some of the old magic.

storey i heard in valencia was the team had to make sure their "new belt buckles" were able to be seen, ie make sure shirts are tucked in.......we will sort the car out later..........oh is it a race w/end.

Rubins has made a good point, if a young driver gets the wrong race seat to early in his career it can ruin his chances of ever being taken seriously. Bruno might do better taking a year to test unless he walk straight into a top drive.

I agree with this. Another year doing a bit of testing, and another year of racing in GP2 if possible (at the same time).

I dont see anything wrong with entering F1 at 25 years old, which is old these days!

(Hence the reason why I dont go into it lol)

Interesting - I've thought for a while this could be Rubens last year - where better to announce his retirement and his replacement than Brazil ?
