If I read it correctly the British GT G50's have been punted out of GT4 and into Supersports and have to run treaded tyres is that correct ? is that the cause or the effect of the G50 cup going to BTCC?

British GT4 is meant to run the same regulations as the European GT4 championship where the G50 runs on treded tyres. In 2008 British GT4 included the G50 on slicks to increase the numbers of entrants...however this idea backfired as a result. The G50 proved difficult to performance equalise against the likes of Aston N24's and Nissan 350Z etc as essentially the G50 is a ground up race car and not a road car which is what the GT4 category is all about. This meant it was difficult to attract other marques to the series, something that they want to avoid next year. European GT4 has been a great success with multiple marques.

Cars that weigh less than 1000kg and with a road car production no.of >300 units were classified as a GT4 light, and that class will be known as Supersports in British GT next year.

Might be because DeDonker is a pretty experienced driver, where the original idea of Gt4 was young inexperienced / gentleman drivers. Takes th piss a bit when youve got someone who's raced LMP cars in a GT4. Maybe theyre in the wrong races for a reason.....

??? WTF? GT4="stock" cars... An above standard driver is always going to outclass other drivers whatever level they compete at.
