Young upstarts who have upset established drivers?

Obviously inspired by last years fiasco at McLaren where a young rookie turns up and proves himself a match for a double world champion, who else has burst onto the F1 motor racing scene and given their team mate a shock.

I'll start.

Hakinnen at McLaren. 1993 after Michael Andretti proves to be a flop. Out-qualifies Senna at the first attempt.

Villeneuve & Hill? Although JV's career rapidly went down hill, he had a pretty stonking first year. Would have won his first ever F1 race if it wasn't for a technical problem I seem to remember, and he was a contender for the title right until the end.

Didnt Webber do fairly well in his first race? I thought he pulled a fast one on Schumacher, but I could be confusing it with JV. Brazil is sticking in my mind for some reason...

You could perhaps add Matt Jackson to your list

Would have won his forst race but for some dubious team orders from Williams.

Hill was never going to get past him and he finished a comfortable second

It was when he had a hydraulic leak. Hills car was covered, but you are possibly correct, I think he may have won rather than letting Damon past.
