I honestly don't believe any driver will interfere with Hamilton or Massa.
They might knock each other off, but nobody else would want to influence the outcome and have it on their conscience.

I reckon it will be a clean race..

"Fernando Alonso says he declared his support for Felipe Massa in the title battle because he could not favour McLaren after his unhappy 2007 season at the team – rather than because he has a personal grudge against Lewis Hamilton."

Trousers! He really is a 'tard if he thinks people are going to believe that. He's inferred many anti-LH feelings ever since he discovered the boy is more of a man than he is...

I hold Aloneso's public tantrums almost entirely responsible for the anti-LH hysteria brewing in Spain. I think the British public should punish them by a boycott of holidays in Spain. See if they appreciate the British a bit more then!

He's just clarifying that he doesn't have a problem with Lewis, just McLaren.

Fair enough.

I don't: I think people should take responsibility for their own actions, not blame them on others.

Yeah but they don't, do they?

I don't know, but I'd guess that they probably don't. In either case, the fact that someone doesn't take responsibility for their own wrongdoings doesn't mean it's therefore legitimate to force others to take responsibility instead.

But we do and we know this in advance which is why sporting figures are always known to be ambassadors and role-models.

I don't think he would risk doing anything stupid, afterall who would want to employ a driver that resorts to dirty tactics like that.

He may be a role-model, but that doesn't mean he is responsible for other people's actions. Even if he had said racist things about Hamilton or wished him ill (which, as far as I'm aware, he hasn't), that doesn't force anyone else to do the same. The fact some people have have is entirely their own choice, and if they do, they themselves must take the flak.

I agree, and he shouldn't but if he isn't responsible, who is? - i.e. life just doesn't work fairly like that.

FA has take at least part responsibility for the mass-hysterical actions of some of his 'fans' whether he likes it or not, due to his tantrums fuelling frustration and hatred, or Spain as a nation should have their sportsmen expelled from the related sport in order to try and stamp this sort of civilisationally primitive behaviour out. It's not going to go away just because someone asks.

The only alternative is to punish thousands of individuals, but you can't do that.

The harshest lessons are the ones best remembered...

Put yourself on the Spanish side of things. Alonso as world champion is driving for a Brit team and all of a sudden along comes this new Brit driver and starts showing him the way home. Inevitably the Spanish think that Hamilton is being favoured because he's British. They think that because thats what they would do if the roles were reversed and Maclaren were a Spanish team and in that situation we would shout "foul" wouldnt we.

Not only that but if you were Alonso you would find it a damn sight easier to convince yourself Lewis had an advantage than accept he was driving better.

I dont reckon Alonso will do anything to damage Lewis's chances but I wouldnt be surprised if Reikonnen did. We have the example of Schumacher to show what Ferrari think is sporting.

Personally I think Raikkonen would be the last person to do this.

Totally agree wth everything except that last point, can't see he'd be the kinda guy to do that.

Of course, if FA does punt LH off the track then it wouldnt hurt his post-race defence to quote what he said before hand, would it. scratchchin

Well maybe if the Spanish actually had an F1 team then we may have this scenario at some point...but they don't have one (have they ever?), and yet they get 2 GP's, and we have Bernie constantly threatening to take the British GP away...figure that one out!
