I bought a 280i to prepare but took the advice from this forum to buy one already done & i am glad just pricing a few bits up was getting expensive.
Got to do my ards & get a race suit helmet etc. im trying to get bits for xmas.
I assume you mean John Sumner. He pops on here every now and again but I think Joo (Trackcar) may have contact info for him. That car put in some very good times on Kumho list 1 B tyres, I would have thought with some slicks and a freshen up it will be a very competitivce car in class C next season. Good luck.
WHen it last raced that car was certainly the quickest of the tasmins, a very strong 2.8 motor and the gearbox ratios modified to make the best use of it.
A well thought out and put together car that one. It should still be in with a shout of the sharp end of C.
John Sumner and that car were our main competitors for the class when we last raced our Tasmin. iirc he managed a 55.5 at mallory on Kumhos !!!
Last time at mallory Sam head who was the quickest tas ( with v6 cossy and slicks) managed
56.8 in qually 55.8 in race 1 and 54.6 in race 2.. with Jes bunces time in a 2.8 car coming in at a 57.

I'm planning on doing a couple of pre-season trackdays at Oulton in Feb / March to run in the engine and gearbox. The car is in a million pieces at the moment but, hopefully, should be back together again by the end of January. I'll let you know when I'm booking if you like, and we could go and have a play.
