What would you prefer to see next year - KERS or the return of slick tyres?

Seems some of the teams believe introducing slicks is to the detriment of the KERs systems. Will be interesting to see what way the teams fall on this.

Well, all cars will have slicks in 2009... with the OPTION of having a KERS system.

This whole making F1 green is complete and utter crap!

Even if F1 was made greener, what effect is it going to have on the world, absolutely nothing - it's like the impact a drop of water has in an ocean.

What the fans want are was of improving the racing, not wasting time on the green agenda which is a complete and utter joke anyway. It is one of those urban myths that todays technology in road cars came from F1. Stop this polical spin now.

You've got it a bit wrong. The teams were worried about the size of the front wheels and front end bite from slicks, because the teams developed their cars based the control Bridgestone tyres therefore the teams have little data to work with when it comes to developing next years cars.

Add KERS and slicks on the '08 cars and most will oversteer like crazy.

Obviously you can alter weight distribution but that is an on going process that can't be fixed overnight and takes a matter of months.

Suits me fine.

The FIA might be taking away the technical diversity from engines but they've given us some back with this KERS system. I can't wait to see how it's developed and how it filters down into sportscars and other series where the rules are more relaxed and receptive to fuel saving.

Its not a detrimental effect on KERS, its a detrimental effect to the car as an overall system, until the teams can counter for it.

My main worry is that it could be an end to close racing for a couple of years until every team can sort out all of the variables in the 2009 specification changes.

I think that it took McLaren until mid-season this year just to get on a level plane with Ferrari with regard to tyre wear after the forced switch from Michelins in 2007, and that was minute in comparison to the changes being proposed.

Don't worry, when Ferrari can't get theirs working next year, McLaren's system will be outlawed
