Just thought I would see how many people would like to see some PROPER F1 racing when the drivers were true men, never giving up and settling for second place, going for the win even when it seemed impossible to win, they would try. I have got a few which I think make the grade and some:

Yeah I would agree that was one of the most intense races I had seen in a while. What a shame the aftermath had to happen. In my eyes Hamilton still won tha race and that was the end of it.

Yep, there was not really proper racing this year despite Lewis' best efforts.

I don't agree, i've been watching for 30 years and i think we've just had a great couple of years.

I can assure you all, every year we've complained about the lack of overtaking and how it isn't like the old days...

Fi racing began in 1948. There seems to be a distinct lack of suggestions of good racing prior to 1986.

Yes there does, perhaps because (in my view anyway) some of the best racing was in the 80's and early 90's, when Ayrton Senna (in my view the best driver of all time) was around. There was some great racing between Senna & Mansell, & Senna & Prost. Those were the greatest days of F1.

It's a thread about videos of racing and I guess there is a relative lack of material available from before the 1980s.

Blanket coverage began in 1981 so the bulk of the footage dates from then (still 6 seasons though to chose from before 1986 - including a number of races featuring the spectacular Gilles Villenueve ). Having said that, there are some gems from the 1960s and 1970s - the 1967 Italian GP and the 1973 British GP, for example.

1980 to 1986 was hardly vintage F1 though...
