GT cup awards. Going going Gone !
Discussion
Having endured immense hardship I am able to report back to the troops on the inaugural GT Cup awards dinner held recently at Whittlebury Hall near Silverstone.
After a close fought season`s racing you could have cut the atmosphere with a knife when it finally came came time to honour this year`s elite. In much the same way a Mason can not divulge the inner workings of their organisation I too am sworn to secrecy. Suffice to say a finer collection of athletes has yet to grace those hallowed walls. Mere hundredths of a second divided the Peronis and Budweisers as they left the sanctuary of their chiller cabinets bound for consumption and later expulsion from the human frame.
It is upon fear of death that I confirm the most sought after award, namely best dancer in a curry house (on Elvis night) was awarded to Peter "just call me twinkle toes" Morris. There were appeals to the MSA, calls for a recount and even talk of a request for medical testing but at the end of the night Pete stood proud with his award held high. Sadly by the morning he`d eaten the award so any hope of an appeal had been lost.
This budding journalist was also fortunate to be honoured with an award for services rendered to media. Fighting back the tears I can only say it was my proudest moment. The pinnacle of my sporting career to date and I thank the organisers from the bottom of my heart.

Err... unfortunately my 8 year old daughter also took something of a shine to my award.
A bloody good night and many thanks to Mark, Hannah and all the gang for organising it.
Until next year........
Keep smiling
Henry
