Have a look as it's gone live now! Looks good but we all need to be proactive at keeping it up to date and providing info. Still lots of driver/team profiles need to be completed and expanded upon. How firm are the dates, and incidently, how long have people had this information??

Oooo, just clocked that, from what I can remember the dates seem to mimic 2008, eg a single header at Brands, then a double, and the last day of the season at Oulton on the 11th October, also while I'm here...the Class B runners and riders are all mixed up, eg I'm in a Tasmin according to the blurb, someone else is in an AJP Tuscan etc.

Yeah mine needs changing to RV8 not AJP, well for 2009 anyway

But a cracking web site, somewhere to call home, could I suggest we all carry the web address on the cars at the same spot, say on the back under lights on on the bonnet?

hi guys. Tony is correct in that content is king moving forward. In response to a query from graham relating to why we are having a seperate forum, a few people felt that it would be beneficial to have somewhere more out of the public domain to discuss the series amongst ourselves. Many thanks to nick and George fir the work they put in and andy for tying it all together

subscription mailing list is better for that. more controlled and you dont need to check it.. :-)

too easy to miss something on a forum that you need to check to see whats going on.

that way if there is anything contentious you can control who sees it.

That would also mantain Johns mailing list better, which is missing some people and others get it more than once at the mo.. easy enough to set up a subscription list that needs to approve members.. sort of like the old tvr list that you can all mail into, and it goes to everyone


as a general forum we've got a good healthly one running that benifits from a lot of cross traffic from the other forums. Splitting them up risks both being under used.. I've seen plenty of good useful forums die off when split..

Agreed, I think that we should use a version of the PH forum on TVRchallenge.com and have a mail subscription on the website (requiring approval by the webmaster to keep it secure). This would provide a good link to the drivers for important messages, but will keep the general forum as it stands now, which is easy to find and everyone is used to using it. Perhaps we could get PH to put a link to TVRchallenge.com in the PH forum?

Regarding the driver profiles, yes it is all a bit of a mess at the moment content wise, now its up and running though I can get in there and sort out all the content so don't worry if some of your info is currently wrong or missing!

Oh and the dates are all 2008 dates with 2009 written in front of them. When I put them up there, I wrote them all as 2008 dates but Andy must have changed them. They're only examples anyway as dates for '09 aren't even close to being sorted yet I wouldn't think!

Hmmmmm FORUMS.....

I think a private forum for registered drivers mechanics and involved personel would be very good, having read the "banter" on here that I really think makes a lot of people sound a little childish and damages the opinion of tvr racing it would only be good to have something away from the public eye. Well done Owen and co for getting things sorted. PH is still a good place to talk, perhaps the new site might attract a more grown up approach, not meaning to offend anyone here at all.

Many thanks for the comments so far as regards the new Challenge website. I agree that there needs to be a focal point in relation to the Challenge itself and also all related driver information and specs, including sponsors etc.

I apologise for some mistakes on the content so far but I wasn't aware until reading here that the info was incorrect. It won't happen again! (I hope) I am trying to catch up with the race series as after building John Reids website a few years ago I don't get the info as I did then.

Unfortunately I am the black sheep of the family as a few of my relations and friends worked for TVR and I chose my path. But being an outsider I can see something needs to be done and I hope I can help in my capacity and bring the challenge forward and up-to-date.

Thanks for the heads-up on the dates, I half thought that may the case. The site is looking good.

Minor point (and if it sounds like a winge, it's for a good reason )- all the photos are shown as copywright to George, I'm fairly sure that's not correct.

So far all photos have been provided by George and it's not confirmed whether George is the copyright holder on all of them, I will check with him. I have placed the copyright as a precaution, to stop naughty people from downloading them to use in whatever way they choose.

Any drivers, please email your up-to-date details for the drivers list within the site, thanks. Th sooner the better!!! also any photos of the car and driver would be good, a promotional type photo would be better, plus your sponsors list. I have spoken with John Reid and he is going write-up the 2009 registration form, hopefully over the next week, so that should be on the site before xmas.

As regards the out-of-date race dates, they will disappear as from sometime tomorrow. They are used essentially to preview to Owen, so that he gets a better idea as to how the new content will start to feed in.

OK chaps, the work that everyone has asked for has been done - its now down to us to ensure the content is updated.

If you're reading this then you probably have enough time to drop andy an email with some info on yourselves and your racing experience. try to take some time to write something that people will be interested in reading and if you have any sponsors logos etc, then make sure that thay are also supplied.

If you notice any errors etc on the site then simply email Andy, there is no point commenting on here that this isnt right or thats not right etc. If you bring the issue up with Andy he will get it solved ASAP. I mean this in a nice way and not in response to any particular comments made so far.

Also, the more content we have then better. any race videos or pics you want to supply will add to the benefit of the site. The objective is to promote the series to attract more people and also to show potential sponsors some thing that looks professional and that will give them exposure. No point moaning about things if the information isn't being forwarded in the first place.

I think the mroe info we have the better, we can then work through it and find the most relevant as time goes by. I think we could have a gallery with pics and photos and theres no reason why older stuff shouldnt go on there.
