They have committed so far, and with the imminent launch of the Focus RS it is a good time for them to stay in, but with the financial issues affecting all the US big three, and the request for help from the US government that commitment may mean nothing. After all, if someone in congress were to say yes we will help, but you have to stop spending on motorsport the choice would be pretty easy for them to make. At least Ford is in the least worst situation of the three...

Ford's rally programme has been forced to be self-financing for some time now. Doesn't mean that Malcolm Wilson may not have problems though with some of his sponsors. On balence, Ford should be there next year.

Citroen don't have the same exposure to the US market that Subaru & Suzuki do so they ought to be safe too.

's not going to be a vintage year further down the field though.

There share price has plummited (Peugot), as has Renault. It peaked at the end of July 2007 at 65 Euros and is now 12 Euros.

Dont expect them to hang around for too long.

I'm wondering if Audi and/or Peugeot will be pulling out of endurance racing. It would be good if they did as we'd then get a Le Mans that was more open.

They're pulling out of ALMS to concentrate more on racing in Europe, so not quite the same thing.
