Alonso v Hamilton - F1 could it be good again (+ not fixed)

Just reflecting on the run up to this year's season and thinking that between Hamilton and Alonso we have a genuine rivalry brewing that could be fascinating to watch this season.
To be honest, the last few years of F1 have left me a bit disillusioned with the sport, but now we have two or three drivers reaching maturity in the same window in what could be closely matched equipment. Chuck Kimi, Massa and Vettel into the melting pot and perhaps we might get something reminiscent of the Prost, Piquet, Mansell, Senna, Rosberg days ?
I really hope the season delivers some wheel to wheel racing rather than re-fuel overtakes.

You missed out Kubica and Heidfeld from that list. The BMW has been in development the longest...
I have real hope that the '09 cars will produce loads of overtaking. The physics behind the regulations are sound and well researched. KERS seems unreliable as well. Dare I say it, I miss the days of nerves as you hope your driver and car keep together until the end of the race, in a period where there was probably a 40% chance of retirement. A massive lead was not a guaranteed victory as it is today.

Only if the Renault can go faster than it looks.But yes, the possibility of a super-rivalry among half-dozen drivers is very high in the next few years.
