Teddy Mayer 1935 -2009

Teddy Mayer died on Friday.

Mayer was one of McLaren's founders, he also ran the team after Bruce McLaren's death in 1970.

He led the team when Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt won their world titles.

He sold his shares in the team in 1982 to Ron Dennis who had taken over in 1980.
