Rubens Barrichello has confirmed his place on the F1 grid this year – he’ll race alongside Jenson Button in the soon-to-be-renamed Honda Team.

Brazilian driver will race for Honda Team
According to Autosport there’s no ink on Barrichello’s contract yet, but sources inside the team have unofficially confirmed Ruben’s ride. The news can’t be announced officially, pending another official announcement expected later this week that will confirm details of the Honda team’s management buy-out.
The 2009 F1 seat will extend the popular Brazilian’s record as the longest-serving F1 driver. His career stretches all the way back to 1993, and he has started an impressive 267 Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, speculation on what the new team will be called is currently focused on Brawn F1 or Brackley F1, although neither suggestion exactly trips off the tongue.
What we do know (we think!) is that the management group is led by Ross Brawn and Nick Fry, and that funding for the buy-out comes from an advance on the team’s future share of the TV rights to F1, plus cash from Honda. In spite of the fact the new team will use Mercedes racing engines, it seems Honda is pumping in funds to support the buy-out as a cheaper option than terminating all the existing team contracts.

22) TRACK AND WIND TUNNEL TESTING
22.1 a) Track testing shall be considered any track running time undertaken by a competitor entered in the
Championship with the exception of :
i) promotional or demonstration events carried out using tyres provided specifically for this purpose by the appointed supplier ;
ii) young driver training, any such driver having not competed in an F1 World Championship Event in the preceding 24 months nor tested a Formula One car on more than four days in the same 24 month period.
b) No competitor may carry out more than 15,000km of track testing during a calendar year.
c) No track testing may take place between the start of the week preceding the first Event of the Championship and 31 December of the same year.
d) During all track testing cars must be fitted with the FIA ECU required by Article 8.2 of the 2009 FIA Formula One Technical Regulations.
e) No track testing is permitted at sites which are not currently approved for use by Formula 1 cars. In order to ensure that venue licence conditions are respected at all times during track testing, competitors are required to inform the FIA of their test schedule in order that an observer may be appointed if deemed necessary.
f) During all Formula One track testing :
- red flag procedures must be respected ;
- no other type of vehicle is permitted on the track ;
- every reasonable effort should be made to ensure that the recommendations concerning emergency services detailed in Article 16 of Appendix H to the Code are followed.
g) If, after an incident during track testing, the Medical Warning Light signals that threshold forces have been exceeded the driver must present himself for examination in the circuit medical centre without delay.
h) No wind tunnel testing may be carried out using a scale model which is greater than 60 per cent of full size.
i) No wind tunnel testing may be carried out at a speed exceeding 50 metres/second.

Thats exactly what i thought too!Headline is a bit misleading though as it states that Rubens will be racing for Honda, then in the text it references another source and states that nothing has been signed and nothing has been said by the team.
I don't believe it, i reckon we'll see Senna in the car come March 29th
They should have replaced Button with Senna, Button has proven he'll never be good enough to challenge for the championship, and isnt an experienced calm head that Barrichello could have provided to a rookie Senna.
The fact someone like Butthead can keep a drive in the team makes it look like they're not expecting to finish in the top 5 teams this season, wonder what idiot made that decision!!

Twaddle, complete twaddle. Jenson is one of the best drivers on the grid, in terms of driving talent he is very much towards the top of the list.
Jenson, Alonso, Vettel and Massa are my top drivers.
Anyone remember the karting events that the F1 drivers used to do every year, must have been back in the 80s or early 90s... would like to see something similar again... (forget ROC its more for the PR). Stick them all in prokarts for 10 laps of 3 Sisters... thats what I say anyway!

God, please tell me you're joking? Alonso and Button on the same team would see Button coming second to Alonso every time, not to mention Hamilton, Massa, and Raikonen, he just doesnt have the skill level these guys do.Twaddle, complete twaddle. He shouldve stayed at Go-Karts if he was so good on them, it seems it's about his level. Didnt Barrichelo outperform Button in most of the races last season? Button is a top 10 at his best, but world champion? lol, Alonso on a tricycle would have more of a chace.
