Imagine the improbability that he realises the error of his ways, and in the year that he has left in office he wants to make everything in F1 right again......before he leaves quietly!! 
What would you have changed, if anything, from the old sporting regulations. Mainly talking points system here but the budget cap seems quite contentious too.
My personal take is:
1 point for pole position
Qualifying back to 12 laps in an hour. The difference being that you have to complete at least one lap in each quarter hour.
1 point for fastest lap.
Drivers can chose a joker race that will count for double points.
Driver of the day gets 1 point. to be decided by an ex-driver who is independent of any organisation. ie Sutils brilliant effort at Monaco last year would have been recognised with a reward. This would work as an incentive for the lower runners to impress. I hate to say it but Martin Brundle is usually pretty spot on with his assessment of Driver of the day. (sub-rule: you can't get Driver of the day two races in a row.)
