I have tried the search option but could not find the answer , although I am sure it has been asked before.
Can you paint a Snell approved helmet to be used for motorsport and still get it passed by scrutineers without problems?
If it can be painted what paint should be used ?

If all you're doing is applying paint to the outer surface, you can pretty much go crazy. You aren't supposed to mess around with HANS fittings.Can you paint a Snell approved helmet to be used for motorsport and still get it passed by scrutineers without problems?

I have just had my helmet painted by www.andrewsairbrushing.co.uk,i had prices from £450-£550 from the bigger motorsport Helmet Painting specialists and andrews airbrushing did a excellent very professional job for just £200.

All depends on the colours, effects, images etc.
If you want a multiple colour design, with your name, cross hatching on the top with shading etc your looking at roughly £300 - £700.
If you start adding chrome the price doubles and if you want an airbrushed design again its even more.
Must say some of the most basic designs with the right colours to me look the best!

Also any helmet painters on PH? I would be interested in getting mine done properly. I have played about with fablon to get the right design. I'm now happy with what I have, it just needs to be transferred into paint.
If not, can any PHers recommend anyone they have used?
