As some of the comments on the BBC page said, I'm not keen on the squealing tyres. But - it's the chain, so I'm happy!

I hope that stupid thing with the red and black single seaters isn't going to be the title credits. The tyre squealing makes me think so.

I think the BBC have made a new non Fleetwood Mac version for this season?

Apologies if anyone has already noticed.

I noticed this too, but can't remember where I heard it - was it on some of the online preview stuff they've been doing? If so, could just be rights issues meaning they have to use a generic version... (I say in dire hope)

It was on the very short BBC trailer for the Australian GP date.
I wasn't just hearing things then?

Still, if we can't get the real Fleetwood Mac, at least we don't have to listen to Legard bumbling on anymore... smile

Got to have The Chain in BBC F1 coverage but I think the intro graphics look very cheap and nasty. When Toytota sponsored itv F1 they had very nice and expensive looking cgi sequences, an x-ray'd car on a dyno type thing if I remember correctly. To be fair though Toyota's f1 budget was more than the BBC's entire licence fee fund hehe

If I remember correctly, they used a re-mixed version of the Chain in the promos to the 2009 season when F1 returned to the Beeb. I'm fairly sure they wont be changing it for the actual programme

Could be a rights issue. It's not inconceivable that the BBC only have the rights to use The Chain in the actual broadcast programmes, meaning that they have to find a cover version for use in trailers.

I'm sure Teppic and 24lemons are right. There'll no change (I hope).

I've heard Murray Walker say on TV that he'd once bumped into Mick Fleetwood, and didn't know who he was at first, and then learned of the significance after.

Yes, the graphics are miserable.
I'd happily go back to the old "montage of last season's footage" to be honest, rather than spending gazillions on substandard cgi.

Years ago on Grand Prix, circa 87/88, they actually did a feature on Fleetwood Mac and The Chain.
