It is an outrageous article. There's no questioning of his betrayal of his wife's trust over a period of 45 years or so, no asking about whether he felt buying women for the purposes of using them for sex was right, not was the question of whether somebody in a position of considerable power should put himself in a position where he could be blackmailed.
Further, the spin of the vote of confidence is repeated. It was not a vote of confidence. A VOC is not a straight majority other wise it would be called a vote. A VOC requires two things, both of which were absent in this FiAsco:
1/ An overwhelming majority, virtually 100%, in favour, and
2/ An incumbent willing to behave honourably and go when the vote falls short.
Thatcher, and I'm miles away from being a supporter of her, got a majority in her final vote but even she knew that it was time to go. Mossy just stayed on reardless. But that's not mentioned nor challegened in the dreadful piece of rubbish that passes for journalism.
The conceit of the man knows no bounds. He has sat in authority during a time of the greatest debacles in F1 history. He is a liability. There are no races in North America. We have a whole calendar of identical circuits, the traditional venues are being dropped and yet Mossy goes on. In recent years the cost of competing has rocketed, mainly due to rule changes that he has brought in. And the sale of the TV rights . . . well, don't get me started on that.

I can't believe the bloke is trying to toughen up privacy laws because he "lost his dignity". whilst at the same time getting more mileage out of the very same sex-scandal.

What really sticks out is this line when he's talking about the need to maintain the secrecy of his perversions:
"I went to enormous extra lengths to be absolutely certain it would remain secret, even to the extent of minimising my television interviews in this country so that my face would not be known to the women involved......."
So he admits that the fact he is a perv affected his work in an official capacity as FIA head. Why hasn't more been made of this?

Good point. Up until now he has argued that it does/ did not affect his position as the Head of the FIA. I worked out, he's was paying for prostitutes within 2 years of marrying her. The guys a total mental case if you ask me...I know which of those options I would be going for because he seems to bring the same ethics into his job as he uses in his private life.
Max is one of theose love/hate characters.
BUT, I can't believe that an international sport has a figure like this with fascist overtones, a history of employing prostitutes and an acknowledgement that his antics would have affected his job. He shouldn't be in Formula 1, he should be a politician.

Unfortunately though he is right...it was private.
Now personally Ive said elsewhere I didnt care about liberal society/privacy side of things, I would be happy to use this just to get rid of him, but alas that didnt happen.
With regards to the case, what was revealing about that articule was the behavior of the editor and his attempted blackmail, that sealed the victory for Max. With regards to F1, my contention with the articule was the notion that his 16yrs in charge of running F1 were successful. His initial years I think he did a good job, but the last 5 or so he has gone the same way as Balestre, i.e. a power hungry fruit loop.
