Mini Tempest Rally, Longcross, 5/04

A few, very poor, shots from today's Mini Tempest stages rally, held today at Longcross.

I was there to support and help service( i.e. get the teas in) Dave Watson's Strato's replica.

Thats a much better looking Stratos Dave has now, the old one was starting to look tired! I'm pleased to see he's back competing on these shores.

Actually Porlock, it's still the old car, with a new 24v engine and paint job. Unfortunately, due to illness, Dave had to switch co-drivers after stage two. The car was therefore unclassified. However, he completed all eight stages and was putting in top ten times in the latter ones as he began to get used to the different power band of the Alfa 24v engine.

A really strong first outing for the car which ran faultlessly throughout.
