Big Orange fan with smoke coming out of it??

Kept catching a glimpse of a large orange coloured fan with what I assume to be dry ice smoke flowing through it in the background, during the lead up to the Grand Prix on Sunday... Any ideas what it was, or why it was there?

(It was probably nothing important, but it peaked my interest as I couldn't imagine a use for it)

Perhaps that one was facing an area where they were doing TV interviews to keep them cool in the conditions.

They blow the smoke around to make the race look more atmospheric on tv.

PS I think it was really water spray.

They blow a fine spray of water around to keep the area around them cool. Saw them a lot in Las Vegas last year and they do the job as long as you're within a metre of two of them!

Yup. Basically humidify the air by adding a fine mist. Blinkin' wonderful things!
