Is there any history with DC and EJ?

Having watched all the excellent coverage from Auntie Beeb so far, there are a couple of things that I keep noticing...
Firstly EJ is a total waste of space, but more importantly, he and DC seem to have very little respect for each other. Is there any history between the two of them in the lower series before F1 as I do not remember DC ever having any issues with him in F1, but then again he seem's to have always kept clear of a seat in an EJ car.
Would be interesting to know if there is any history between them...

EJ proved himself as a grade A plum this weekend. The man just isn't pundit material IMO. Too self centred and keen to refer back to his golden years, plus he is just too out of date to offer any real insight.
I'd prefer to see MG brought back in or even a rotation of the test drivers (who must be shy of stuff to do on a GP weekend?)

When I heard EJ announced as part of the BBC lineup I was looking forward to his contribution, but so far he appears to be an extremely opinionated, self-aggrandising, marginally informed, overly confrontational, rather rude little man!
He seems to see himself as the bearded man's Ron Denis or Jean Todt - I'm afraid I don't find him as convincing as he clearly does.
DC is doing a decent job and I hope will develop further with experience. But EJ (and that Legard chap) I'd ditch.

I don't care for EJ, but he gives me someone to shout at the tv from time to time, wish engages me with the program, sure we do could better, MG was a surprise (someone i thought wouldn't like but was so knowledgeable on tech, strategy, he won me over immediately) but EJ does gives us someone we can all agree on, he is a Cock. EJ also seems to have been out of touch, a problem he actually compounds, trying to validate his opinions, by referring to such old news, did you notice how he emphasized that he won F3000 with Jean Alesi, how long ago was that?!
Possibly part of the problem & admittedly some of the entertainment, is when JH asks a major debating question he asks DC first, DC is always stood next to JH (have you noticed?) this leaves EJ either agreeing with DC or, a character flaw perhaps, trying to be different or trying to top him. DC obviously doesn't suffer fools, or someone going OTT. I think EJ is even trying to top DC, and JH in clothes now. Possibly small man syndrome, Wig, Irish (so a bit of an outsider in British motorsport establishment in the early 80's, when trying to come up through the Formula's) you can understand why he might be a chum of BE (I could have been describing him).
To use him in at least offensive way, I wouldn't let him interview anyone, I'd have JH asking a question to DC, then try to ask EJ about something else, and not ask DC afterwards, who now seems keen to slight him, at any opportunity, or ask EJ a distinctly different aspect of the topic of discussion, then he might not be so offensive. Or maybe not.
There's always room for a cock, a small one, in most things, at any rate, but as a cock gets bigger and louder....

With JH one side and DC the other, EJit would look ever so titchy.I imagine the producers have arranged their positions so he doesn't look like the short man with short man syndrome that he perhaps, in reality, is.
I had be wondering if there was any history between EJ and DC too, as it seemed more fractious than general banter. I certainly agree with the comments about MG, he was very informative. Perhaps the BBC likes the EJ / DC double act for the tension it creates, rather than providing any useful information. I personally prefer listening to the insightful commentary from Anthony Davidson and David Croft.
Can't we have someone like Gabby Yorath? Really good to look at - I've seen her in the flesh, but not enough of it. TV does her no favours, yet she looks great on it - really professional and seems to do her reasearch (now there's something unusual).
Or Lucy, the weather girl on Sky News. She makes sleet sound thrilling so could have doen something about yesterday's Spanish GP.
