Caterham Open and AMOC Open.

Friday 17th July AM SET UP.

PM Testing in Britcar 2 x 1 hour sessions.

Saturday 18th July
Britcar Charity Race A 1 X 20 MIN Qualifying
Britcar Charity Race B 1 X 20 MIN Qualifying

Britcar Charity Race A 1 X 30 MIN Race
Britcar Charity Race B 1 X 30 MIN Race

Sunday 19th July
Britcar Charity Race A 1 X 30 MIN Race
Britcar Charity Race B 1 X 30 MIN Race

Britcar Charity Race Final A & B 1 X 30 MIN Race
Overall Winner.

Presented the Britcar Charity Cheque for £5000.00 to be made out to the winners chosen Charity
Plus the AMOC Charity Shield.

There will be mandatory pitstops within the 30 mins so it can be 1 or 2 drivers.....message from James... you can bring two cars if you like?>???

Claire - I may be being a bit thick, but can you explain how this works please?

What is the difference between Race A and Race B - are these classes? There is mention of a final - how does this work - how does one qualify for the final, or is everyone guaranteed 4 races?

Great that entries have been coming in thick and fast - could you publish the entry list so far?

You are correct Andy it would help all other PH viewers knowing how it will work.....ok here goes hope this will explain it.

Entries will include Britcar GT's Classes 1 - 3 and Britcar Productions Classes 1 - 3 equallying 6 classes. All cars must be on Dunlop Tyres, No refuelling and a Mandatory pit stop of 60 secs from beam to beam (see Britcar regulatioins)

The total number of entries (max 76) will be split randomly by James into two different races Group A & B. We will make sure there is an even split with the 6 classes and we are allowed 38 cars per race.

These cars will then qualify and have two races in these Groups. Then the 3rd race (the FINAL) on the sunday will be the top 38 cars between the two Groups from the results of the 2nd race.

Hope this makes sense.

Sort of....

...race 1 doesn't count and the race 2's derive the grid for the final.

I'm not clear how the top 38 cars are selected for the final - presumably 19 from each Group? But how does this work with different classes? Someone finishes 20th in race 2, not in the top 19, but they won their class. Are they in the final?

It could be horribly complicated to do this on an objective basis, particularly if you don't have exactly the same mix of cars by class in each group or the same number in each class.

I appreciate it is for a good cause and a bit of fun but racers being what they are will, I suspect, want to understand what determines whether they get to be in the third race

Would a rover v8 5ltr powered tuscan challenge car be eligible and if so what class. can run p/w inc driver at about 350/ton at the wheels

would you need a dl1 logger to race as well. we do actually have a dl1 but not a britcar one.

yes and the apropriate class adjudged at the time.

Yes that is beng discussed as we speak and the regulations will be finalised very soon but we will be taking a proportional representation of the finishers in each class.

For example we will be taking the fastest 50% in each class in both groups through to the final.....
