MG Car Club Brands Hatch

As Brands is my local I popped into the MG Car Club meet today and thank god I did. Not only were there rounds of the Porsche Club and Open championships (including an awesome 993GT2 Evo) but there was a round of the EuroBOSS series for single seaters! The cars included 6 F1 machines from the 1990s (3 benettons, 2 arrows and a tyrell), a Zakspeed turbo F1 car (not running well though) and a handful of Champ cars. It was a truly awesome meeting. Two of the benettons were ex-schumacher cars (including his first winning car from Spa 1992), the other benetton was an Alesi car. One of the arrows was being driven by Ricardo Rosset who originally raced it in the mid-1990s. Not only that but the pits were open and I had a good look around all the F1 machinery. There were only about 100 people at the entire meet - what a waste. Anyway, it was fantastic.

Anyone else on here go? It's on again tomorrow and I highly recommend.

I'm running down there this afternoon - solely to watch the F1 cars then back home...

Apparently there were some contractual problems that meant that it could not be billed as EuroBOSS this weekend. Hence the minimal publicity. I only realised that they were running a few days ago. There is an interesting thread on the Ten-Tenths forum about the series.

Got back a while ago. Fantastic. My friend got Pole, and won both races in his Metro Turbo, too! A great result.

Metro Turbo ... well cool. Last time i drove one of those was back in feb 1983...

Great photos and I'm glad you enjoyed it. The pic of the zakspeed is fantastic - was it still going very slowly on the Sunday? On Saturday it was merely pootling around - either driven very slowly or some problem.

It did a couple of quickish laps, but seemed to be happy to be overtaken.
