If i were to purchase admission only ticket would i be able to get near any of the hillclimb?Or does it have to be a grandstand ticket?

Loads of information in the Goodwood forum I'm sure, but no, you don't need a grandstand. You can get very close to the action with an admission only ticket.

Indeed. All the grandstand gets you is a guaranteed seat. Doesn't get you any nearer to the action, per se. So long as you have pointy elbows.

It's just an idea at the mo,looked at the map and it's quite a way from east yorks to do in 1 day,i knew it was quite a distance ,but had'nt realised just how far it was,would love to go will have to think about it.

Depending where you are coming from in East Yorks,it about a 4-5 hour drive each way,I would think.

It is though, a unique event and quite superb so well worth thinking about for any petrol head.

If anything you can get closer to the action when your not in a grandstand (imo) although the amount of people with ten chairs surrounding them gets a bit annoying, trying to fight past them to get nearer the front. But once your up against the bales or cordons its a great view. Also quite deafening.

It was a long drive last year for us, we drove down from leeds, but made quite a trip of it, ended up staying 5 nights!
