Brawn GP Sells Off Old F1 Cars
Brawn to sell off its collection of BAR and Honda racing chassis; Renault F1 sells off old engines
Brawn GP is selling off its collection of old BAR and Honda F1 cars from the 2001 to 2006 seasons. Sadly, however, it’s not a chance to get hold of an old hack of Button, Barrichello or Villeneuve that you can blast around your favourite track in – this is just a sale of chassis.
Even so, if you fancy a particularly unusual living-room ornament, the good news is that the cheapest 2001 BAR chassis – the auction lots only go back that far – is expected to go for as little as £7000.
Unfortunately for Brawn GP, the sale of chassis is unlikely to match the £20 million that the team has lost from not being allowed Honda’s share of F1’s commercial revenue, after it was declared by the FIA to be a brand new team and not a continuation of Honda F1.
Ross Brawn can’t be too strapped for cash, though – he rejected a sponsorship deal with Richard Branson as it wasn’t lucrative enough.
For fans of the more oily bits of F1 cars, Renault is holding a private sale of various chassis and engine components from cars previously raced at the British GP to coincide with next weekend’s race at Silverstone.
Meanwhile the BAR/Honda auction will take place on 25 July at the Silverstone Classic race meeting.

Any idea of what this is worth as I have a slight memory of Martin Brundle saying Force India lost a load of cash by Ferrari ramming them in Monaco last year.
Thought it was something like €500K per point or the like...If it is true then Brawn will be sitting on a lovely payout for end of this year.
OR is the Honda cash talked about in the PH story?
as for the Virgin sponsorship deal: citation is here. The deal is a race-by-race job at the moment, and is on the rocks as the price gets higher and higher the more Brawn wins. Perhaps I should have explained myself better

damn keyboard keeps giving me typos.
From the source article:
20 companies are said to have registered their interest and Fry is busy sifting through the candidates. Virgin remains at the top of the list
