Goodwood Festival of Speed 2009 - Advice

Hi, I'm not getting much of a response in general gassing so probably best placed here.

This year I'm going to go on the Friday because its cheaper (£33), but is it worth paying the extra £26 for the roving grandstand ticket?

I've been twice before on the Sunday (admission only) and had a great time, but was dissapointed with the lack of viewing on the main hill climb, this is the best bit of the event for me by far! There were free viewing areas but these were not great and had big queues.

I assume its cheaper on the Friday because it isn't as busy, hence more likely to get better viewing with the bog standard ticket than you would on the Saturday or Sunday.

Should I pay the extra £26 to be guaranteed great viewing?

It depends how busy this particular Friday will get and how tall you are. If you can't get right to the front and aren't tall enough you are going to struggle to see the action.

In past years I've had a grandstand seat and enjoyed the fact I could sit down and could see all the action without fighting against the crowd. On occasions I wandered to various places for a different view but thought it was well worth having.

I haven't been for a couple of years now so no idea how busy the actual Friday is.
