Which GP's would you most like to go to?

Having thoroughly enjoyed my first GP at Silverstone last weekend I have decided I am going to set myself a goal of going to at least one GP per year until I have been to every circuit.

Out of the current venues which would you put at the top of your "visiting" order and why?

I tend to try to get to Silverstone, Monte Carlo, and Spa every year. Barcelona has been fairly good over the last couple of seasons. If I were you i'd avoid the Arab tracks ( the atmosphere is too sterile). Interlagos is another classic, personal security outside the track is an issue though.

agreed about the personal security outside interlagos, have first hand experience of that!

my faves that i've been to are (in no particular order) Spa, Melbourne, Nurburgring. Silverstone is good, but the best i did was Montreal last year lets hope they get that back.
valencia is nice for a visit but it's a dull race.

Monaco - for the spectacle and the absurdity

Monza - for the tifosi and the atmos

Melbourne - I've always fancied Oz, it's the season opener and the surroundings are apparently brilliant

Singapore - for the spectacle of the night race

They're about the only ones I'd make the effort to actually go to.

I've done Spa, which was brilliant, so that's off the list of 'must do's'

If they still went, I'd like to do Montreal. Indy aswell.

Has anyone else got a mental list of motor racing must-do's? I haven't been terribly successful with mine - think I've achieved about 7 off my list. Better than nowt I suppose. Monza is the big Grand Prix left off my list.

Remarkably similar to my own! I also want to do Monte Carlo Rally, Pike’s Peak Hillclimb, Pebble Beach / Monterrey week, Le Mans Classic, Long Beach Indycar, Spa 6hrs. Sure a few more will come along during my lifetime too…

I went my first grand prix last year at Silverstone. Might sound sad but it was the best weekend i've ever had. The camping with friendly people in a good atmosphere and watching excellant racing for 3 days.

The other two i would do anything to go to are Monaco and Spa.

Have been to Silverstone, Spa, Magny Cours a few times but the best yet has to be Montreal.

Spot on. The weekends at Silverstone have always been a proper giggle. I used to camp at the Litchlake site and then for the last 4 years at the SRA site. I've found the GP weekends to be more of a laugh than a cheapo week in the sun type deal. Monaco is always a cracking event and Spa is very like the atmosphere at the British GP, mainly on account of how easy it is to get there and the amount of Brits who do the trip.

Nurburgring 1957 (Fangio)
Silverstone 1977 (?) (Roberts vs Sheene)
Hockenheim 2000 (Haga vs Edwards)

I was at Donington in '98, though, when Haga caned the living daylights out of his YZF750 to get his first WSB win on European soil.

In a professional capacity I have done 42GP's (Paddock Club all the way) and have also been lucky enough to visit Indy 500, Daytona 24 and the 400, numerous CART / IRL / Indycar races, a number of NASCAR events and more than a few cloaasic / ALMS / GT events.

I would suggest if the budget allows....the Japanese GP because it is an amazing country with a fantsatic culture.

Montreal used to be a great GP venue.

Barcelona is way up on teh list too as is Melbourne, purely because of the location.

I would look beyond F1 at the best races on the planet, from Pikes Peak to the Bathurst, from Le Mans to the Long Beach, and don't forget Daytona, Indy 400 Nascar and the Finnish Rally....just amazing how fast those cars go and the distance they jump on gravel in Finland.

I've always wanted to go to Suzuka. Luckly, my fantastic wife has bought tickets and flights for this year...woohoo!!!!

If I had a the bank balance to make it fun, then I'd love to go to Monaco.

Spa, Monza, Monaco wouldn't be a bad three to do over the next 3 years before venturing further.

I fancy Melbourne myself. Great location, lovely venue and you walk to the GP from the town centre rather than sitting in traffic gridlock.

Re: Turkey - We thought that the infrastructure to and from the circuit was excellent, although we are very eager F1 fans so we were on the first buses to the circuit on Saturday and Sunday.

Once at the circuit, we thought that everyone from the security staff to the 'fans' just didn't get it. The atmosphere at Spa is amazing and everyone is up for it and people are going mental.. I particularly like the way the Polish go crazy with chants etc. But at Turkey, there was no buzz, no fun, no real point in going. We had really good seat in front of the finish line, but we weren't allowed in any other stands, be it that same banding or lower to get pictures even though there was no one else in the stands, (we were that early). We were told that we could not go out the only door from the grandstands to the track after the race.

I'm not explaining it very well, but there was just no appetite for it. In fact, talking to a local later on asked: "Why go to the circuit when it's on TV?". That kinda summed it up for us.

Although the city itself is brilliant.
