Well hes just won at Watkins Glen so maybe they'll make something out of that! Was a brilliant win as well!

My brother bought into him, nothing paid out yet.

I think he has to earn in excess of 2mil for 2 consecutive years before investors get a return (earnings were about 850k last year I believe)

There is a dinner for investors at Brands in a few weeks. Should be a decent affair after his win

That is an interesting thought. He has been taking a wage for a while now and his "manager" has been taking a cut too. I wonder why the shareholders havent seen any returns yet. Could his two faced "manager" be taking too much and running shonky books again?

As I said, I believe the deal means you only see a return once he's had 2 years earning in excess of 2 mil.

Last season he made around 850k so theres obviously some way to go!

I guess more will come out at the Brands meeting

My opinion, for what it is worth, is do not trust his "manager".

When I worked with him, Justin was known as "Bad-ass", because he is the nicest bloke that you will ever get to meet. I would suggest that he doesn't really get involved in the money side of things apart from to collect his paycheck. Everything will be done through the "manager", this is also where the published figures will appear from.

I would have thought that the only places a professional driver can earn in excess of $2m a season are F1 and NASCAR.

Don't see him getting back to F1 and NASCAR is a tough category for even the best Champ / IRL racers to succeed in.

In which case I think that money's staying where it is.

Most people did it because they liked the idea of being able to say "I helped him get there". At the time it looked like he could break F1, he is certainly skilled enough. The move to America ensured employment, but the monies talked about across the pond never seemed to add up to what was published. As I have said above, Wilson's "manager" is someone who I would not trust with my money.

JP does very well from it and JW is com fordable. But anything has to be better than living in a 1 bed flat in Northampton and earning £50k a year racing against guys earning over £1m per race, as he was in F1.

The fact that he had to keep doing the driving instruction at Bedford whilst he was in F1 shows a lot. Apart from JP being able to use it as advertising (to his advantage).

It was a bit like Amir Khan at the olympics showing his occupation as "student" when the rest were shown as full-time 'amateur' boxers.
