Silverstone last year o the Friday, we had branding down the "strip" in the pit lane (either Allianz or Santander - can't remember) by Saturday morning it had been painted out with a solid colour.

Presumably it was a "Friday only" contract.

ADAC is one of the German motoring sanctioning body like the MSA in this country and maybe Derek Smith or Flemke can answer better, but I think ADAC withdrew from the FIA due to Mosley's spanky behaviour and refusal to resign, there are also issues about putting on the German GP, Hockenheim can't afford it. Whether its those or Bernie painting it out as FOM sells circuit advertising, and it hasn't been paid for, or the ADAC wanting to disassociate itself or the FIA disassociate itself from ADAC, or there was an ADAC support event on Saturday but not on Sunday. who knows.

I'd put money on it being that they didn't want to pay Bernie's fees for in-shot advertising at the race.

We have had issues in the past with Aggreko generators being in camera shot - and FOM wanting us to paint them black (they used to be bright orange) on Sunday morning - idiots ! In the end they just masked them with some spare Marlboro branding......
