I just finished reading Andy's report about Mallory. Well done, good report again!

So............I was thinking of some new wets (we may need them for Coombe) and my old ones are pretty much shot. I then thought about Andy's exploits on inters and wondered if they maybe better and keep my aging wets.

What do type of inters do folk suggest??

I use Dunlop do2Js which is Dunlops cut trackday slick. (I think there's an 03 available now)
Being road legal, they handle water quite well (to be emarked), wear very well and have loads of grip in the dry.
Great for a drying track. Not so good on a flooded one.
They are Dunlops so are "Challenge" legal and have the bonus of being road legal for my car.

Dunlop "proper" inters will be available, but will be competition priced. D02s for my car were £68 a corner.

I've got a similar quandry with the tasmin... we've used up our free tyre pass so need some dunlops to run it again. when I started with the Tuscan in the tvrcc series we ran on do2s and they were night and day ahead of the kumho, but still poor in standing water... I did a back to back comparison with them in the wet at knockhill with some old full wets and the difference was amazing. so much more grip with the full wets..

So if its ultimate pace your after you need to go slicks and full wets, and possibly some do2/3 if its a bit in the middle.

Im probably going to go for some do3's for the tasmin. I think they give me the best compromise.. on grip, life and wet weather capability in a single set of tyres.. The price difference wasnt that much though when i asked HP something like 130 each for do3 and 160 for slicks..

where the heck did you find do2 for 68 quid!! best i can find is about 138!! for R15... although Sp9000's can be had for 60 quid... probably still better than old Kumho and would have come in handy in the rain..

16s...was at the start of the season (to replace my 888s) I can ask if you want...

If you could see if your contact can get a good price on 205/50 R15 Doz2/3 that would be cool
