NKA Championship...anyone in already?

Just a heads-up in case anyone on here fancies a go, I was at Buckmore Park a few weeks ago and someone recommended having a crack at the qualifying for the NKA Championship. Anyone already going this??
Basically, regional qualifying and then if successful (I think top 50 or something from each venue?), you go through the next stage.

What's a good time round Buckmore then? I did just sub 1min I think in the lashing rain (it was horrendous) a while back
Might have to get to one of the indoor tracks to set a time based on the quality of this summer. There are quite a few options
Saw the Jenson Button helmet thing in the FHM email they send round every Fri morning - that would earn me a few bob on Ebay...

That's not a bad time in the wet, Bell_123! Buckmore's good fun when it rains, but that's a good point about trying some of the indoor places. Where were you thinking of going? I reckon Streatham Kart Raceway's probably a good bet if you're in London.
I've just noticed you can qualify at Xtreme Karting up in Scotland as well, I remember dropping in there on holiday a few years back and being quite quick! Though it might be slight overkill to travel 400 miles just to qualify there...

My mate is involved with the organisation of this. Its open to anybody at the moment including msa licence holders. Easykart is proper msa racing by the way. The karts are proper race chassis and motors. Pace wise their a second or so a lap off a rotax max I think mainly due to running on harder tyres. Its a decent championship by all accounts with some talented drivers in. Just google easykart and all the info is easy enough to find.
Having found this because I went karting (again) with work alst night and was thinking of looking into it more.
The one thing I notice, certainly with the centre's near me is that there is a world of difference between the quality of the karts at one centre.
For example I won last night, but I know that it was down to the fact the kart I had was very good and well sorted. My mate (who is as quick, if not quicker) got no where because the kart he had was very bad.
If you were to do this, could the centre gaurentee you'll be doing the qualifying in a quick kart?

I dunno about that really - whenever I go someone's always convinced their kart is slow but I guess it's just luck of the draw. Have you lost weight or has your mate put on the pounds? It could make the difference but best not bringing that one up with him...
They're not that fast in the first place so if there are differences in performance I can't believe they have a huge affect. Last time I went with mates my kart was well powered but half the foam on the steering wheel had come off so left-handers were an interesting experience. If you've got better power in your kart you may well have all sorts of other issues to deal with

there was a definite difference, he was a good 3 seconds off me at least. The previous time we went there the role was reversed and I was a good 5 seconds of his pace (as a guide my Qualiy lap last night was 27.5).
It's definitely a kart issue I think, maybe it's just with the cheaper companies like Teamsport.

I didn't know about this competition until I started to look on here for info about kart racing, so I'm not entered. I don't think I can see the current times for that circuit without entering unfortunately.
I have a lot going on for the remainder of this year, so won't enter now. If they run it again next year, I'll definitely have a go I think (I guess it's an annaul thing).
My time was very close to the quickest times for the day (all registered on the kart I was using I hasten to add, it really was very well sorted).
I got a call from Streatham the other day to say they were putting on a night especially for the champs - think it's Weds from 6:30 - 7:30. Not sure whether I'll survive an hours driving but it's only £10 more than a half hour session. Either £30 or £40 from what I remember

I've had two rather annoying 'texts' on my home phone and an unsolicitated email inviting me to enter (and pay for) a quarter final at Sandown Park, yet I've never registered or even heard of this before (I do race regularly at Sandown Park). Until I found this thread via Google I thought the whole thing was a scam.
There is no mention of what format the quarter final is for your £40, no dates for the semi finals (to know if I can make it) and no location as far as I can see for the final - so it could be in northern Scotland.
All rather strange. Don't think I'll take them up on their offer.
